Aguirre’s invitation, the legendary Japanese pitcher, Tsuyoshi Yoda, graced the locals at Barangay Santa Rosa baseball field with his presence. He conducted a heartwarming clinic that ignited passion and instilled invaluable skills in aspiring players from Mulanay on January 26-27, 2024.
Mr. Yoda, a veteran of Japan’s Nippon Professional Baseball league and a seasoned international competitor, arrived in the Philippines brimming with excitement to share his love for the game. Players from Barangay Patabog whose eager young faces greeted him with a mix of awe and anticipation, their eyes sparkling with the hope of learning from a true master.
The clinic unfolded like a masterclass in baseball fundamentals. Mr. Yoda, with his infectious enthusiasm and patient demeanor, meticulously guided the youngsters through pitching, batting, and fielding drills. Asides from free training he also gave baseball shoes, gloves, baseball and other equipage to the Mulanay Little League and Secondary Baseball Team sponsored by Mizuno Corporation.
