Mulanay Bags Awards from DSWD’s “Panata Ko Sa Bayan” 2023 Recognition Program

The Municipality of Mulanay, under the leadership of Mayor Aris Aguirre, Sangguniang Bayan, and the entire Mulanay community, received three prestigious awards from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) during the Panata Ko Sa Bayan Awards 2023 program held on February 15, 2024 at Batangas Provincial Auditorium, Batangas City.

Mulanay Recognized for Model Day Care Service Implementation

The municipality garnered the GAWAD PAGLILINGKOD SA SAMBAYANAN (GAPAS) AWARD for Model LGU Implementing DAY CARE SERVICE (Municipal Level). This award recognizes the LGU’s outstanding efforts in ensuring all barangays have functioning Day Care Centers (DCCs) and Day Care Workers (DCWs). Notably, 100% of Mulanay’s barangays have active Barangay Councils for the Protection of Children (BCPCs) with established programs and resolutions dedicated to children’s welfare. Additionally, the municipality boasts an investment plan for children, accreditation for at least 80% of its DCCs and DCWs, and competitive salaries for DCWs. Furthermore, Mulanay achieves an impressive 95% enrollment rate among children within the Early Childhood Care Population and maintains a low drop-out rate of 10%. The recognition also highlights the LGU’s initiative in organizing capability-building activities for DCWs and support groups for Day Care parents.

Mulanay Applauded for Increased Service Delivery Capacity

The municipality was also conferred the GAWAD SERBISYONG MASIGASIG, recognizing the Local Government’s significant improvement in the 2023 Service Delivery Capacity Assessment (SDCA) score. This award underscores Mulanay’s commitment to providing efficient and timely services, particularly during disaster situations and relief operations. The dedication to humanitarian assistance and logistical support was commended by the DSWD.

Mulanay Champions Social Welfare Advocacy

Mulanay’s achievements extend beyond service delivery. The municipality received the GAWAD ULAT – Most DSWD – Social Media Advocates Award, acknowledging the active online presence in promoting DSWD programs and services. This award emphasizes the role individuals and communities play in amplifying social welfare initiatives and raising awareness about critical social issues.

These awards from the DSWD stand as a testament to Mulanay’s commitment to serving its community and advocating for the well-being of its citizens. The municipality’s dedication to children’s welfare, efficient service delivery, and social media advocacy serves as an inspiration for other LGUs to strive for excellence in social development.
